Dan – Lenexa, KS At first I thought this HCCR program was too good to be true. I’m 35 years old and have been self employed my whole adult life. I have been uninsured since my divorce in 2007. The COBRA of my previous insurance was going to cost over $320 a month. When I discovered from my doctor at my last visit that, within the HCCR program, the cost of my 2 annual doctor visits and a year and keeping my 1 prescription filled all together won’t cost me even$300 a year I joined. I didn’t care that HCCR doesn’t provide catastrophic coverage—I can’t afford it anyway. The only question is : Why hasn’t something like this been offered previously?

Larry – Leawood, KS I’m retired, and I have a son that, because of pre-existing conditions, is currently uninsurable. Through the savings of the HCCR pharmacy benefit, I’ll be saving over $900 a year just on my son’s medications alone. I wouldn’t have believed this was possible if I weren’t seeing it for myself.

Brandy – Kansas City, MO I’m 26 years old, healthy, and, because of the cost, have been uninsured since I graduated high school. I was tempted by a commercial I saw on television for people like me until I found out that what they were offering is identical to what HCCR is offering, except HCCR’s program includes a pharmacy benefit, and will only cost me $30 a year, not $59 a month like the insurance wanted. I understand HCCR is not an insurance company, and doesn’t cover catastrophic events, but that’s okay. No one in my family has ever had a catastrophic event and coverage for a highly unlikely event would cost me about 2 whole paychecks.

Tom – Overland Park, KS My employer doesn’t offer insurance, so I haven’t been going to a doctor. My girlfriend has a cat, and when I’m at her house, I have difficulty breathing. I signed up for the HCCR program and saw a doctor who prescribed an inhaler. Now I can breathe. What I thought was going to cost me over $500 or a relationship, was less than $100 and the relationship continues. Thank you HCCR!

Mary – Overland Park, KS I thought this offer was far too good to be true. I’m insured by a major carrier and have been for the last 20 years. My policy doesn’t cover name-brand drugs, and recently I was prescribed medication that’s not available in generic. That single prescription was costing me over $250 a month, but with the HCCR card at one of their partner pharmacies (which happens to be where I shop anyway) my prescription is costing me a much more tolerable $180. Wow!

Jennifer – Prairie Village, KS I’m a single mother working in the food service industry barley making enough to make ends meet. I cannot afford health insurance for me or my 3-year-old son. By signing up for the HCCR program, both my son and I can affordably see doctor as needed, and I can get any prescriptions I need without insurance consuming a big part of my income every month.

Mark – Olathe, KS I’m a healthcare professional and I’m paying $150 a month for health insurance to see a doctor once, maybe twice a year. That means that each doctor visit is costing me at least $900, but if I only go once a year, the visit costs me $1,800. When I found out that through HCCR program I can see a doctor twice a year and it still won’t cost me what just 2 insurance premiums would, I signed up.
