At first I thought this HCCR program was too good to be true. I’m 35 years old and have been self employed my whole adult life. I have been uninsured since my divorce in 2007. The COBRA of my previous insurance was going to cost over $320 a month. When I discovered from my doctor at my last visit that, within the HCCR program, the cost of my 2 annual doctor visits and a year and keeping my 1 prescription filled all together won’t cost me even$300 a year I joined. I didn’t care that HCCR doesn’t provide catastrophic coverage—I can’t afford it anyway. The only question is : Why hasn’t something like this been offered previously?
